How To Change Your Life If You Want To Be Successful

Have you ever met a person who was broke/ unhappy/divorced and told you that was his/her goal? I don't think so. Failure is never a decent destination, we all try to avoid it as hard as we can. But when it comes to success sometimes you do everything right, but you still fail. Why does it happen? What can you do to avoid it? The line between successful and ordinary people is thick only in the end. When you're only starting your way to the top this line is almost invisible. If your life hasn’t turned out quite the way you were hoping, then don’t you think it might be time to shake things up a bit? See what you need to take in order change or improve to stay on the right track
Step 1 - Make A Decision
It doesn't matter who you are and where you are in life. You can change your life however you want at any time. But to change the direction of your life you need to do one thing: you need to make a decision. The moment when you say yourself that starting now your life is going to be different. There will be no perfect circumstances, but the great thing is you don't need them. This is your life, your decision and it's entirely up to you.
Step 2 - Change Your Approach
Once you’re ready to make a change, the difficult part is committing and following through. The next step is realizing that you need to change a lot. We can't expect that we will have the different results while doing the same things, can we? Until we are willing to adjust the way we do things, it’s unrealistic to think that we can make meaningful changes in our life.
Step 3 - Develop Clarity On Your Goals
To reach your goal you need to know exactly what is it you want. Take a huge sheet of paper and write your major goal on it with giant letters. Then hang it in such place where you will see it all the time as a reminder. It might seem huge and unrealistic, and that's why you need to break it into manageable steps. Make a plan on achieving them and make sure it is realistic enough to start it today. If not - breast into even smaller pieces.
Step 4 - Change Your Habits
If you haven't thought of it yet - it's time to take care of your health. Start with replacing your unhealthy behaviors with healthy ones. Do not try too change everything at ones. It takes time, so the best way is start small. For example set yourself a goal to sleep no more, no less than 8 hours a day or replace a desert with something more healthy. As new healthy behaviors become a habit, try to add another one that works toward the change you’re striving for.
Step 5 - Improve Your Relationships
Mark Twain once said:"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great". Well, no one could have said better. Think about your circle of influence and try to keep away from unhealthy relationships.
Step 6 - Read More
To reach your goals you need to stay motivated which can be difficult sometimes. So the best way to motivate yourself, to change your set mind is to read books that were written by the most successful people. That the best thing! You can learn from the greatest of the human kind anytime and anywhere. Try "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, "The Monk and the Riddle" by Randy Komisar and "Focal Point" by Brian Tracy for starter.
Step 7 - Believe in Yourself
You will definitely make it. It's only scary to start, but if you will trust your guts, believe in yourself and embrace changes instead of resisting them - you will definitely succeed. So just make the first step and in a year or so you won't believe how much your life has changed for better.

Habits that are worth mirroring and cultivating more than anything else: Accessibility Highly respected people are often down-to-earth. Appreciation Saying "thank you" takes only few seconds, but only few people prefer to do this. Showing your gratitude is one an of the most important habits you can cultivate. Even if your appreciation goes unnoticed it still mat...

The Future for Political Leadership Development

The way that we look at leadership is changing. With politics, elections and businesses facing the combined challenges of emerging technologies, newer working practices and increased interests and developmental index expectations, our approach to identifying and nurturing future leaders needs to evolve. Instead of focusing on a minute crop of creek actors, or thugs are potential leaders, we now need to foster a more collective and intelligent leadership mindset and build a culture in which future leaders can grow and thrive. Academic intellectualism and a well articulated political culture should be a well-articulated politics. There are two major shifts helping to drive this approach Identification of political potential leaders by influence, academic excellence, network and behaviours rather than by their role in the mastery of the guns or position within the business. This arises from moving towards leaner, flatter, non-hierarchical political or youth organizations. Indivi...

How to Get a Good Reference

A request for your references is often the last hurdle before your job offer comes through. If the company is hesitating or deciding between you and another candidate, then a great reference is crucial in gaining that advantage. It is essential that you carefully consider who you will ask and that your referee fully understands the type of role you are applying for and the type of skills and experience that the job requires. Who should you ask? Try to find a balance between asking someone who appears quite senior and therefore more credible, with someone who has detailed knowledge of your capabilities. This may be a university professor, former boss, past supervisor. Approaching people who did not work closely with you could be pointless if they are unable to provide real insight into your career history. If someone appears reluctant to provide a reference, don’t try too hard to persuade them. Most likely they either are unwilling to provide a favourable reference or feel unable ...
